Ice Cream in a Baggie {recipe}

So we recently went camping!
We usually make S'Mores but this time we couldn't
{ya  know...all the fire bans}
so...
What to do?!?

Make ICE CREAM IN A BAG of course!

Even the tough guys in your group will LOVE it!

And all you need is:
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup salt (Kosher or rock salt works best.  But we used table salt and it works fine.)
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill each gallon-size bag about half full)
  • 1 pint-size ziplock bag
  • 1 gallon-size ziplock bag

First, combine the sugar, half and half, and vanilla extract in the pint-size bag and seal it tightly.

Next, place the salt and ice in the gallon-size bag, then place the sealed smaller bag inside. Seal the larger bag tightly

Now...
SHAKE shake SHAKE...SHAKE shake SHAKE...
SHAKE YOUR ICE CREAM!

...until the mixture hardens (about 5 minutes).
Feel the small bag to determine when it's done.

And finally, take the smaller bag out of the larger one, add toppings if you have them, and eat the ice cream right out of the bag.

 Mmmmmm...Ice Cream!
