You'll need:
Wood candlesticks with metal piece removed
Glass jars
Gorilla Glue
Spraypaint for both wood and metal
Large wood base
Medium wood base
Large ball
1. Spraypaint all pieces.
Use the metal spraypaint for the lids.
And use your regular spraypaint for the wood pieces. Spray both sides of the medium bases.
2. Once your spraypaint has dried, attach the candlesticks to the large base using Gorilla Glue, your hot glue gun, or wood glue. I used Gorilla Glue (for the first time).
3. Attach the small bases to glass jars...bottom of base to bottom of jar.
4. Finally, attach the ball to the top of the lid.
5. Let pieces dry. I let mine dry for over two hours.
6. After these pieces have dried, attach the bottom half to the top half (candlestick to base of jar). Let dry once again.
7. Sand to your liking (if you like the distressed look ~ which I obviously do).
8. You can leave the apothocary jars as is or you can attach ribbon. I used my 3M Super spray to attach the ribbon around the bottom base and simply tied bows around the knob.
I have plans for what I will be putting in the apothocary jars but that's a whole new tutorial...so, in the meantime, I just threw in some candles I had laying around.
TIP: If I did this all over again, I would not use Gorilla Glue. This was my first time using it. I definitely prefer wood glue and my hot glue gun for the wood and either jewelry glue or E600 (suggested by Ali @ Found In The Ali) for the glass.
