Have you ever wondered where those darned socks go?
Well...The Laundry Alternative Inc. has a theory...a Quantum Mechanical Approach to be exact!
My explanation is much, much simpler and more likely to be true!
It was the Sock Monster that got it!
Uh...don't look so surprised you Sock Monster you...you know you did it!
Now, in my house, the Sock Monster tends to return the sock
after a few days or weeks so I decided to create this:
And this is how I did it!
You'll need:

Board
Clothespins
Paint (and brush, obviously)
Mod Podge or Scotch Super 77 adhesive spray (not shown)
Sandpaper if you like the distressed look (not shown)
Paper ~ I used:
Vinyl (not shown)
Cricut or other die cutting machine + cartridge/font
I used:
My CriCut and the Lyrical Letters cartridge
Instructions:
1. Paint board. I used Folk Art acrylic paint, color 515 Vintage White
Note - you don't need to paint the center part because paper will be covering that space.
Yes, I squoze out a little too much paint!
2. Once the paint is dry, sand the edges and even the front of the board to your liking.
Note - this is an optional step. You can leave the paint solid if you'd like.
3. Cut background paper to size you want. I left a little over 1/4 inch of white board on each side.
4. Attach paper to board. You can use Mod Podge of Scotch Super 77 spray adhesive.
Note - I chose to use the Scotch spray because the paper has some glitter and texture to it.
I didn't want Mod Podge dulling it in any way.
5. Cut out your monsters and lay them out on your board.
{I tried at least 10 different layouts before I settled on this}
6. Attach monsters. Again, you can use the adhesive spray, which I did, or Mod Podge.
7. Paint the front of your clothespins and let dry.
8. Once dry, use your hot glue gun to attach them to you monsters.
I attached them to the hands so it looked like the monsters were holding onto the socks.
9. Using the Cricut (or any other system), cut out your letters on vinyl.
10. Lay the letters out before applying.
11. Peel backing off of vinyl and attach letters.
12. Attach a picture hanger to the back.
And voila...you have yourself a Sock Monster board!
Hope you like...
